CEPC Physics Research Team Receives Top-level Award for Paper (2020-11-30)
"Precision Higgs Physics at CEPC” (Chinese Physics C, Vol. 43, No. 4 (2019), 043002), a paper published by the CEPC physics research team, was recently awarded the Most Influential Paper Award of Chinese Physical Society. The award has been bestowed by the Chinese Physical Society and related journals since 2012. The award was made by the chief and deputy chief editors, taking into account the paper’s number of citations, universality, academic innovation and influence in the domestic and foreign academic communities. This year, Chinese Physics C selected six papers to receive this prize.
The discovery of the Higgs boson by ATLAS and CMS experiments at the Large Hadron Collider marks the beginning of a new era in high-energy physics. In order to further accurately measure the properties of the Higgs boson and search for potential new physics related to the Higgs boson, the Circular Electron Positron Collider proposed by Chinese scientists is one of the candidates for the “Higgs factory.” In this paper, the CEPC research team gives the first estimates of the precision of the Higgs boson property measurements achievable at CEPC and discusses the implications of these measurements, thus providing strong scientific evidence to demonstrate the advantages of CEPC as a Higgs factory. This work has also received the attention and recognition of domestic and international peers, and has been cited 36 times. This work has received funding from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Natural Science Foundation of China and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
