2019 high energy physics computing and software conference (2019-06-06)
On May 30, the 2019 high energy physics computing and software conference, sponsored by the Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was held in Nanjing University. More than 60 experts from research institutes and universities such as IHEP, Nanjing University, Shandong University, Sun Yat-Sen University and Xi 'an Jiaotong University attended the meeting. Weidong Li, director of the computing center of IHEP and Professor Shenjian Chen of Nanjing University co-served as the chairman of the conference, Professor Shan Jin of Nanjing University chaired the opening ceremony, and deputy president Dong Zhang delivered the opening speech on behalf of Nanjing University.
The conference includes physics software, parallel computing, machine learning, space astronomy, a total of 27 reports. According to the planning and development of large scientific devices and the current status of various technologies, the presenters introduced the current research progress and results on current software framework, computing performance, data management, deep learning and data management of space astronomy, and proposed new research directions and methods. This conference promoted the communication and discussion among participants, strengthened the deep communication and cooperation between computing software and technology in different experiments, and also played a guiding role in the future development direction and focus.
In the end, Weidong Li made a comprehensive review for the current situation of high-energy physics computing and software, summarized the achievements in this conference, and called on all domestic expert teams to maintain close cooperation, jointly promote the development of scientific computing of high-energy physics in China.
High energy physics computing and software conference is sponsored by high energy institute and organized once a year. The purpose of the conference is to provide a platform for experts and scholars in this field to conduct in-depth study and coomunication, and jointly promote the development of high energy physics computing and software-related technologies.
