CEPC Detector International Review Committee Meeting Held (2024-10-30)
From October 21 to 23, the Circular Electron-Positron Collider (CEPC) Detector International Review Committee (IDRC) meeting was held at the Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Academician Yifang Wang, Chairman of the CEPC Executive Committee, project leaders, detector system managers, and researchers attended the meeting.
Academician Yifang Wang delivered the welcome speech. Researcher Xin-Chou Lou, CEPC Project Manager, first provided an overview of the project's overall progress during the Reference Detector Technical Design Report (Ref-TDR) phase. Researcher Jianchun Wang, CEPC Detector System Coordinator, introduced the research content, objectives, plans, and progress of the detector team during the Ref-TDR phase. CEPC detector system managers reported on the research progress of their respective systems. Throughout the meeting, the International Detector Review Committee engaged in in-depth dialogue and exchanges with CEPC detector researchers, providing professional comments and recommendations.
This meeting was the first International Detector Review Committee meeting after the CEPC team proposed the Reference Detector Technical Design Report (Ref-TDR) plan. The committee unanimously affirmed the phased achievements and implementation plans made by the CEPC detector team during the Ref-TDR phase, including detector design, key technology development, prototype development, and team building. They emphasized that this design scheme marks significant progress from the preliminary concepts outlined in the CEPC Physics and Detector Conceptual Design Report (CDR), and encouraged CEPC to further strengthen international cooperation and domestic team building, as well as enhance the development and verification of key technologies.
