Q4: CEPC, similar with SSC in USA, will cost a lot of money
The reason for SSC project huge cost is:
- Proton-proton collider technology is complex and difficult to predict future technological developments: conservative means not advanced enough; radical means risky. SSC is a bit radical in the prediction of technological development, resulting in overspending.
- lack of work in management, coordination, organization and international cooperation. Because of the political parties and disadvantage of political system in the United States, there is no political guarantee for the stability of large scientific projects.
